Baillie, Janette

Janette Baillie

Although I have had a camera of some type since I was a teen, it was a couple of years ago, when I received a DSLR as a gift, that I became really interested in photography. With the zeal of the newly converted, I dove right in, and will freely admit I am seriously addicted now!

During an introductory photography course with Casey Lessard, I learned about things like the rule of thirds, perspective and leading lines – all new territory for me. Then, during a subsequent course, I discovered how using those mysterious settings like ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed could affect the quality of my photos.

Joining the camera club has greatly contributed to my learning curve. I have learned so much from the wide range of wonderful photographers in our club. Attending the Andre Gallant workshop with some club members was an aha moment for me. It opened up a whole new world of photography: photo editing and manipulation to create artistic effects. I love experimenting with my photos to create unique looks. These days, it’s as much about the editing as the capturing.

Living in beautiful Grand Bend , I find inspiration all around me and photography is my way of sharing what I see and feel.
